Windows Thin Client is A Well-Established Product

Thin Client Server deploys a small footprint Linux-based OS to old PCs, new low cost PCs and to popular thin client devices (HP, Neoware, Wyse, Maxspeed and more). Thin clients always boot the latest version of the OS from the ThinClientServer. The thin client OS is protected for maximum security.

Windows 2003 for thin clients now has high-color support, sound delivered to the desktop, data compression, and better printing support. Thin client technology has finally caught up with the vision.

Windows Thin Client is a well-established product. Although it does not have a clearly established specification, Windows Thin Client-capable hardware must be built with the minimum hardware resources to support Windows while having the necessary hardware to support CE.

In fact, we would likely benefit from its development as we could bundle it with our thin client devices," noting that Microsoft has created thin client products in the past, including a thin client version of Windows CE.

One popular use of Windows Terminal Server is running, say a centralized Windows accounting program, and using WTS to serve up decent performance at remote offices. This avoids having to start over with a new Unix based or Client Server accounting program when a business opens new branches.

A new thin-client device that is proving to be beneficial to many companies is a wireless tablet. Some thin-client manufacturers now sell wireless thin-client tablet displays so that existing full-screen inventory programs can be used directly on the tablet anywhere in the facility, eliminating the need to modify the inventory program.

All-in-One Thin Clients, Another growing trend is the use of "all-in-one" thin clients. These thin clients have the thin-client technology contained inside an LCD flat-panel monitor.

Biometric Security Features, The ability to secure access to thin clients with a biometric device is beginning to appear in thin-client applications.
