The Benefits Of Thin Client Terminal

Thin Clients are computer terminals used in central server computing networks. Thin Client computing works like a modern-day version of mainframe computing using dumb terminals and central servers for data storage. Thin Clients are powerful enough to run modern web, Windows and Linux and .Net software.

Thin client applications and data storage run on the server behind data center firewalls.

If desired, a thin client can be configured with zero local storage capacity, greatly reducing the chance of data theft or loss. Plus, transfer of all data can be encripted and secured by a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.
The thin client terminal according to claim 1, characterized in that the thin client terminal has a barcode reader that is configured to be explosion-protected or intrinsically safe and that is connected to the data processing device for purposes of inputting data.

In the event of a disaster, recovery is much more immediate, because data backups are handled on the central server. If a thin client terminal is damaged or destroyed, a new one can be configured automatically without the physical presence of IT assistance.

The thin client server system according to claim 3, wherein said connection destination control section further boots up the desired client and transmitting the client data of the desired client to said specific thin client terminal, and said specific thin client terminal connects to the desired client based on the client data of the desired client.

Data from different workstations or different locations is entered into or retrieved from a centralized database. There are no hard drives or floppy drives, so entered data can only be saved to the central server.

Using iNamics Thin Client computing solutions, you can access host based applications such as Windows Terminal Server, Citrix Presentation Server, VDI, Web applications and more.

According to another form, the present invention is a method for electronic mustering comprising the steps of: configuring site zones and muster zones, receiving at a server cardholder location data from ID readers and remotely monitoring the zones using at least one thin client terminal operatively connected to the server.
